I doubt that even SQ would replace planes that were "already 5 years old"... I think CX will start replacing these frames by 2018-2020 at the earliest. Yes, the seats are bad (especially J), but the aircraft themselves are still perfectly serviceable, and will be for the next 10 years or so.
