Way to find reason for schedule change?
Mrs. Redtop flies YYZ-RDU regularly. For the past few years, flight 7978 left YYZ around 4:40PM, turning around here into 7979 and returning around 6:50 PM.
From May to October, however, the times have changed, leaving around 2:45PM and returning at 5:00. This is much less convenient for us, as she could occasionally make the 4:40 but never a 2:45, and our weekends are cut short by her having to leave at 5:00 instead of 7:00.
It probably doesn't matter, since there's nothing we can really do about it, but is there a way to find out why they made the change for 6 months? We will live with it (we have no choice) but I'm hoping nothing will happen to cause them not to change back in November.
I'm not sure, but I think they might be using different equipment now. I usually check her in, prior to May when I did that the plane showed 13 rows of seats, now it appears to still be 2x2 but at least 23 rows, maybe more. Is it possible that for some reason they anticipate higher demand for this 6 months and the plane they are using simply gets into YYZ sooner? Or has to be back there sooner to send out somewhere else? Is there a way to track movment of aircraft? (This would also help us to know when her flight is on time, as it's frequently delayed.)
