As I said, I wouldn't mind paying 10 USD for an extra bed, but 106 USD is way over the top. I wrote an e-mail to the hotel and said so and also that I would change plans and cancel the booking because of the extra charge. For us the hotel was only two nights sleep while driving from Norway, through Europe, to Italy. We simply changed route and will go to IC Berlin and IC Prague instead. IC Prague has already told me they will not charge for the extra bed, so has IC Frankfurt (which we had to cancel because of the change in plans).
