If using IE doesn't fix the problem, then likely it's a temporary technical glitch on the ctrip end because they are monkeying around with the site. They normally will be doing this during the wee hours of the morning China time, so compensate for whatever time zone you are in, and don't try to access during the wee hours of China time.
The English page and order functionality seems to be working fine now.
Ctrip et al seem to work OK (when they are working) in Chrome, which is my primary browser.
The airline websites come "closest to working" in IE. Older versions both of IE and of operating systems also seem to work better. Firefox mostly the same results as chrome.
