They just want to show that they are the strongest. And the procedure to get a visa for norway is a lot more complicated for chinese than in the other way.
Not as complicated getting a US one...
Now it does not concern me since I am only staying 10 days I was just wondering if this was some sort of rule or if it was just because I stated 10 days on my application forms. I know for Russian visas you only get as long as stated on your invitation, but getting an invitation for 30 days is not hard.
