This isn't anything new. The fare basis has long been on Delta boarding passes, just below the name, status, and FF number on the left side.

When Delta switched to a new kiosk software (blue background instead of clouds on the welcome screen), the BP layout changed slightly and the fare basis went away. It sounds like either it is back on the new kiosk software or you used a kiosk that still had the older software.
