I transferred to DL yesterday and got the award upgrade and miles overnight. Elite status and 50% bonus is hard to beat for anything.

Make sure that

1; flights available that you want
2; make sure that the bonus promotion shows in your DL account prior to transfer
3; transfer points from AMEX MR site.
4; points show up first and then the upgrade shows up the following day with email to you.
