from the Introduction of my "Aussie Slang" booklet:
A large proportionof Australian slang centres on a small number of topics, notably booze, body parts (especially private ones), bodily evacuations, and sex. There is also mor than a sprinkling of sexism and racism, which may mirror the fact that white Australia's cultural origins are chiefly working class English, a milieu in which femals and foreigners are not held in high regard. At the same time, the seemingly endless number of personal insults are more often than not jocular, affectionate even, rather than truly aggressive.
