"chock-a-block" is certainly used in the US too.

"truckie" - in the US, a trucker.

"bogged" - stuck in the mud. There was a recent FT trip report where some folks got bogged. Not to be confused with The Bog (British), i.e. the Loo.

Cockney rhyming slang goes back a very long way indeed; presumably it came to Oz with early settlers?
