Sorry to be pedantic but getting through customs in Japan is usually very quick especially if you only have carry-on luggage. What could take longer is waiting for your turn at immigration/passport control. As others have said it could depend on your class of travel but also other flights arriving immediately bofore yours.

Sometimes they don't have enough booths open for non-Japanese passport holders.
