I managed to do it just before it closed. Not sure if I was more excited because it was Kai Tak or because it was my first visit to Hong Kong. We were sat on the port side...the best views were on the starboard side. On our flight there was a bunch of girls screaming away hysterically as we banked to the right.....a bit OTT but it added to the occasion.

The airport was a bit of a dump though.
