There is the SunTrust debit card that earns SkyMiles (it is a Master Card, I think). If you happen to be Canadian there is a Capital One Master Card. Amex is the only company to offer a credit card for US residents.

If it were me I would look at the Capital One Venture card or the US Bank FlexPerks card for that kind of spend. Both give consistent $0.02+ per dollar and you can use the points for flights on any airline. If you do any international travel the Capital One card is nice because it does not charge a foreign transaction fee.
