1) The airport is due to be relocated next year, so Kimpo is getting pretty run down (well, actually, it has always seemed pretty run down).
The new airport "Inchon International Airport" is scheduled to be opened on March 27, 2001 this year NOT next year. A bit earlier than they had originally planned, which is getting many airlines worried, because they're not ready for the move.
All international flights will have to fly there from that point and onward. The 3 letter airport code will still be "SEL". There will be a few domestic flights for those connecting... most domestic flights will be out of Kimpo, though.
I'm hoping the new airport will be a big improvement over Kimpo. I'll be back in April to see what the airport is like and I'll find out if it really is a "state of the art" airport as they promote it to be.
Thanks for reading my trip report.
