Hi Prospero - I was definitely charged £30 per seat reservation per my Amex bill. On the seat plan for the 777-200 there were three advanced reservation options:

Exit row - £50/seat
Twin seats - £30/seat (there were maybe only 4 or 6 pairs of these on the original seat map)
Everything else - £20/seat

I wonder if the £30/seat charge for window pairs is really new and the customer service staff are not familiar with it? As I said before, the cabin crew had not heard of this arrangement before.
