Sunday crew at National/Atesa better than Sat night employees. It seems like they will help -- but you can't get a tire changed in Avignon on Sunday (hard for an American to accept, but so it is). So it looks like I'll be stuck another 24 hours. It's a shame I saw the sights in town yesterday before realizing I had the flat tire. But I can have a lazy day.

Lesson of this story: try to get a rental car with a spare. And ask about roadside assistance in advance, especially when crossing borders. And I still have the feeling this will cost me a couple hundred bucks, but we'll see.
