As you will know, these change by the day, perhaps even by the hour, and getting Hilton (for example) and bmi (it's BMI again now, isn't it?) to agree amongst themselves on the same format is no easy matter. That could well be where your claims (and mine) keep falling down.
I've had a similar problem with the formatting, but all my miles always post correctly without requiring a claim.
Whenever I make a reservation on hilton.bomb, it will not let me complete a reservation without removing my BMI number first (it says the number is invalid), albeit the miles do post correctly even when I take the number out.
I've filed numerous support cases regarding this issue with Hilton but they appear to fall on deaf ears. A fix was not included in the most recent site redesign.
