In regards to the bus that shuttles back and forth between Newcastle Upon Tyne and Carlisle, can I hop on the bus from Newcastle? How much does it cost to ride the bus? If I do it from Newcastle then I don't have to take the train from Glasgow to Carlisle and instead go from Glasgow to Manchester.

Is the Hadrian Wall section near Newcastle as good as the other sections? Perhaps if I can't fit Carlisle and or the other towns into my itinerary then maybe Newcastle's section will be sufficient enough for me.
