Did AT&T ever buy out any phone networks which use CDMA or TDMA? Maybe that's what the rep was thinking when she said "2G". Perhaps AT&T is phasing out any CDMA/TDMA pockets. I know one of our GSM networks here in Canada which has a legacy CDMA network has been said to have been considering phasing out their CDMA network (Telus).
