You're definitely not in that category! And thanks for remembering the name of the place.

We just found ourselves running into many inconsiderate types. And at first, I thought it was tourists but the encounters were on the Metro with commuters. I also witnessed a total nutjob going off at a McDonalds, in Falls Church. Witnessed the entire thing and it was just surreal. (I joked with the employee, apologizing that maybe she was from NY.)

disclaimer: I've both commuted and worked for the LIRR. I have seen my fair share of asshats. But there was a higher than average amount here. However I do realize this is a small sampling.

That said, many Americans return from Paris saying how rude Parisiens are and I totally disagree.

In any event I would return to both Paris and DC.
