No, I don't believe that will be a problem. The main thing, from the visa issuer's point of view, is that it is possible to run a check on the applicant, which is why it is sometimes difficult to apply for a visa (to any country) if you're just visiting the country that you're applying from.

Anecdotally, the French are among the most straightforward of the Schengen countries to deal with when it comes to issuing visas. (Certainly this seems to be true for those applying in the UK and in Australia.)
