I believe you don't get docked for the foreign transaction fee or exchange rate if you purchase the tickets using your SPG Amex on the CX USA site, since the point of sale is USD-based. Similarly, if you were to use your CX Amex (assuming HK-issued) on the CX HK site, you would also avoid those additional surcharges.
