Booking hotel with 1 person's Marriot points, using Gold status of anothers?

Hi - hope someone with knowledge can answer a quick question.

A family member has some excess Marriott points, and will be booking a reservation under my name for upcoming travel I have. They do not have status, but I have Gold status. I'd ideally like to be able to somehow associate this points redemption stay with my account so that I can receive the benefits that come with Gold (in particular, the lounge access).

Is this possible - can the family member add my Marriott # to the reservation, despite it being booked under their Marriott #? Or, at check-in, should I just show my Gold card?

Thanks much...
