The Maldives are great especially if you're diving. Depending on the season the visibility and scenery are out of this world. Depends where you stay though, some of the islands are more "no news, no shoes" than others. There was a review in todays Sunday Times (London) http://www.sunday-times.co.uk/ in the travel section.
