valet parking at the QEH
I seem to recall that if you want to valet park your car, when you first arrive at the hotel, you can go to the side entrance and the doorman there will take care of the valet parking for you.
When you retrieve it, you'd go to the basement level where the parking people are, and they will get the car for you.
So if you tip when you leave the car, you are tipping the doorman.
When you tip when retrieving the car, you are tipping a different group of people.
So in the past I've tipped both of them. I figure, after a few hundred dollars spent there, what's a few extra loonies.
I guess you can also drive the car into the garage area and have the people there park it for you, but I've not done that and I don't know the procedure. Can someone shed some light on this?
