Now this is a topic that got me to thinking...

The Delta Forum is probably one of the most interesting forums on FT. I have posted in US, CO, AA, and a number of the others, but I have to say that DL is the one that has the most interesting conversations...

That said, you have to look at the DL forum like DL looks at itself. At the DO, it was very well stated that DL is like one huge family. Wel so is the DL forum on FT... Like all families we have our things that make us unique...

The NEW DL family was created from merger of the NW family and the DL family. Like a lot of weddings, members in both families have had issues with the union. Turf wars began and feuds have been common. The new family has had some growing pains, and has often had to backtrack on its new course to bring back in some old family values. A few feuds continue today, but for the most part, many have realized that fate is written in the cards and there is no turning back.now. Some love the new union, and some despise the new union, but in the end, we are all family and have to stick together. Though we have lost a few members along the way, we have also gained new ones....

As previously stated, the DL FT forum is like a family with lots of different personalities. Many posters have described thses rather well in this thread.

I started off years ago at DL, but through lots of twists and turns, I ended rejoining the DL family via NW. Though I will miss some things about NW, I am fairly happy with the new family and often call it out when it gets out of line... So I guess I am neutral..

The DL FT forum tends to be a lot more fun than a lot of the other forums, especially after you get used to its inner workings. Like others have said, the WN forum is pretty tame.. You know what you are getting into over at WN. You love it or you hate it. US is pretty much the same. Most of the complainers of US have left..... I suspect many came to DL.

AA is ok, but just not as fun as DL. The one I am waiting for is the CO/UA merger. There are so many apologists and loyalists on both sides that this one could get really nasty. Things have just moved a little slower over there...

As mentioned by another poster, there is also some sense of hierarchy to the DL forum. Kind of like a family some feel that they are older and wiser. Some are and some just like to speak to be heard, even if they just repeat the same points over and over or just refuse to ackowledge that someone else made the same point two posts earlier (when they say it, its right).

There is a wealth of information here and many here have great insight. Many here have a sense of humor, unlike some of the other forums, where fun is frowned upon, or simply goes over the head of the other posters.

I am happy to be a part of this family. I welcome others to join, though I am sure many here would appreciate it if one of the first things new users would do is to search.. We have all done the post without search thing, but it does get annoying after a while to have the same threads started over and over again. I think we are forgiven on post 1-10...

You learn to deal with the flaming. Sometimes its deserved, sometimes its not. Remember there are egos at play here...

If you think the DL forum is bad, try going to the OMNI/PR forum and post something anti left... You will think the flamers here are sweet and cuddly......
