This is an email I received when BA changed the times of my flight. I actually received two, because both inbound and outbound flights were cancelled at different times.

Dear Customer,

We regret to inform you that

- Flight BA8701 on xxxxx has been cancelled. We have tried to find the best alternative service, and have re-booked you accordingly.

As you can see, I could call them if I wanted to, if the flights were unsatisfactory. However, these were the flights I actually wanted in the first place, but they were far more expensive than the ones I actually purchased.
