Yes, I always keep that in my mind. However, a major problem with this rule is that some annoying agents append comments to PNR, and the subsequent agents who answer call would follow whatever the comments on PNR say and not bother to go in any detail with something that disagree with the comments. I once almost had to beg an agent to assess everything from blank scratch.
However, they rarely remark the PNR unless you challenge them. When I get someone who gives me an answer I disagree with, and feel to be wrong, I very quickly and politely thank them and hang up. Or fake an incoming call or whatever necessary to get off the line without them thinking twice about it and documenting the record.
