Yes, I still have a lot points with Fubon which are expiring July with the CC and I originally wanted to wait next month's bigger purchases to save on conversion fee. But maybe I shouldn't be too greedy about those HKD 100-150 fee... Still need to find out that travel agency thingy and upgradeability of BA WT+ tix.
OK, so it's indeed the OW multi-carrier awards you were suggesting. We're pretty much fixed on CX, as well because timing is not on our side (work travel schedule, etc).
