Not to mess up your plans any more, but. . . as an area resident, I should point out that June is actually one of the worst times for weather in the beach areas in Southern California. "june gloom" arrives, usually bringing clouds over the coastal areas most of the day, with some sun appearing in the afternoon.
This can extend into July as well. Last summer, I flew out of L.A. on the afternoon of July 4th and (eventually) arrived in Edinburgh on the afternoon of the 5th. It was warmer at EDI (22c) than LAX (20c).
