Fantastic trip report!!

Personally, while I enjoy a good meal and look forward to it, seat comfort is the biggest priority in my book. That said, I still look forward to the dining, and am occasionally disappointed, but not as annoyed as I am when their are problems with seat comfort and, to a lesser extend, entertainment.

As for the 2-4-2 configuration over the normal 2-3-2, here's my idea..

BA is obviously adding large amounts of legroom to the seats, so they need to put more in to compensate. Therefore they decrease the width and add one seat per row in the main deck. Reviewing the timetable, they still lose some seats, but not as many as they would in a 2-3-2 configuration.

I wonder if this presents new problems when assigning seats..Bulkhead or not? Window or aisle? And now, forward or back facing? I'm sure there are some people uncomfortable sitting backward, even though in flight it makes no difference, and during takeoff and landing, it's supposed to be safer (the US military faces seats backwards).

I look forward to trying this new product some time..
