I have also taken the Coastal Starlight from San Diego to SFO (Actually drops in OAKLAND JAck London Square. Absolutely a beautiful train ride up the coast. You can also get a small cabin (that have drop down beds) for $131 that includes your lunch. If you do not want the beds you have two recliners and a table.Just a thought.
