Caveat on Nairobi: you can spend HOURS going from the airport into town. Took us 3 hours one time. If you only have a short amount of time to spend, you can waste a lot of time (and goodwill) getting to and from airport.

Also...NBO is one of my all-time least favorite airports. I go through JNB even when it is out of my way, just to avoid when possible.
