Funny how experiences differ.
Bread on my Longhaul J flights has been uniformly bad.
Food, I find quite good relative to other airlines (again only talking about J Longhaul, food in F disapointing but warm bread).
Besides the awful seat, my main complaint about J is service. Friendly staff but who do the minimal service required by job description. That means mostly chatting between themselves until serving diner with few rounds to check if glasses are empty or something is needed and then disappear immediately after dinner. In comparison, service on short/medium haul is better than longhaul.
