This weekend, while attending a conference I hopped between here and the Hyatt Place Raleigh North. This is the better of the two properties in Raleigh, though it is only middle of the road for a Hyatt Place. I would stay here again.
It's easy to find from the airport and close to I-40. I did hear planes flying over twice, one time at night and one time in the morning. I don't consider this a major problem. Maybe the incoming flight pattern varies on wind, and that affected things for the OP's wife?
Two other small notes:
1. This building has only 5 floors, not 6, so if you like top floors it's good to know.
2. For some reason, I got a handicapped accessible room. The bed is away from the window A/C unit, which was nicer. If it wasn't for the low shower in the bathroom (so it can be hand-held), I'd be tempted to request one again.
