Baggage reclaim at LGW recently has been a nightmare... even more of a reason to travel with hand luggage when going to London for the weekend from Jersey! Got a trip coming up in a couple of weeks time, out in CE back in ET. Trip is purposely for shopping (mainly in A+F and Hollister) but we will travel with hand luggage simply due to last times disaster of waiting 45 minutes for our bags... travelling with hand luggage saves so much time; out on the BA8040 on Fri afternoon, arrive into LGW just before 6PM, and if trains work well we can be at the Marriott in Park Lane by 7PM.

Also agree with the comments about the rubbish food offering in the lounge, but I am usually there for no longer than 15 minutes, so it isn't that big a deal! The drinks selection isn't that bad, a JD+coke before a flight is always welcome!
