Flight IX: DEN-ABQ

United Airlines UA6910 Denver, CO (DEN) to Albuquerque, NM (ABQ)
Scheduled Departure: 9:36 PM
Actual Departure: 11:36 PM
Scheduled Arrival: 10:58 PM
Actual Arrival: About 1:00 AM
Equipment: CRJ-200
Class of Service: Economy

SAN-DEN was delayed but the weather improved in DEN soon enough for DEN-IAH to take off on time. I missed it. Running low on alternate options and wanting to get to a bed, I decided to grab a seat on the last DEN-ABQ flight of the night. I would lose routing miles but both SAN-DEN and DEN-ABQ were rebooked in full Y so that would cover some of my losses.

Of course the weather started to get bad again and the delays started to pile up. A gate agent informed me that our flight would be delayed because the plane was stuck in BIL. Ugh...

Delays

The shops in the regional jet area of Terminal B ran out of bottled water so I decided to go find some. My first choice was Wolfgang Puck in the center of Terminal B but they closed at 9:00 PM. Seriously? I kept walking and noticed that many other shops were closed as well. I eventually found a shop with water and was surprised to pay under $2!

DEN is really big. I was bored and didn't want to sit for two more hours so I walked the entire length of Terminal B twice.

The plane arrived at about 11:15 PM and boarding started 10 minutes later. The pilots mentioned that they would increase speed to get us to ABQ faster. Much appreciated. ^

I didn't feel like driving once we arrived in ABQ so I decided to use a BRG voucher to book a room at the Hyatt Regency. This coupon combined with Hyatt's 40% off sale helped me get a room for $17. Parking was an extra $8 but I can't really complain about that since the hotel was such a great deal!
