At least you didnt have checked Bags to collect at Gatwick, last weekend flying in from JER we landed behind a EZY from Belfast and the BA's from EDi & GLA, with only one baggage belt for Domestic arrivals we were waiting for 45-60 mins for bags, which was twice as long as the flight time !
As for the food at the lounges, i think BA need to do something to bring the LGW lounge upto the spec of the LHR lounges, would it really hurt to have some small bacon rolls at breakfast time and a couple of hot items at lunchtime to run alongside the normally quite nice soup offering ?
JER lounge again, is fairly nice for an airport offering 4 BA flights per day, however it also now has priority pass access, so does get rather busy, and no doubt once AB properly join OW they will start using the JER BA lounge. It really could use some sarnies or other proper food offerings, last week the lounge consisted of some pre packed biccys, some crisps a few cakes and some fresh fruit. a very nice offering of drinks which were topped up on a regular basis, but like i say, the food lets this lounge down !
Also looking at the loads on the LGW-JER-LGW sectors iv flown i would suggest that the demand exists for an extra rotation, obviously im just seeing it from a customers point of view and i have no idea on yields, but its normally a fairly busy route!
