The first time I went to the grand palace and Wat Phra Kaew I dutifully bought a tickets. The second time I went I was with a group of Thai people. When I headed towards the ticket window they all looked at me with the inscrutable amused/confused look that they get and pulled me over to the entrance where we all just walked in. Gotta love Thailand.
