There are two different editions of Hemispheres magazines - one for use on UA flights, and one on CO flights. I believe the only difference may be the sections on inflight entertainment and service. I believe that the $2 discount is currently only on CO-operated flights with a CO-branded credit card.
If this perk works for card retention and use, I expect it will be expanded to the combined airline as the carriers and cards are combined.
