I had a nice little mileage run sorted for the OneWorld 6 continents challenge which all went to pot today!

LanChiles flight to Guayquil left so late (the day after my flight to Rio left 2 hours late after the pilots could not get to the airport because of the rain), that I would have missed my connection to get back to go to LAX tonight.

So LanChiles reaction - never mind just spend 12 hours in the airport - no meal vouchers - nothing. I am flying first so can sit in the lounge but it has no sandwiches for lunch and it is going to wear thin really fast.

The reaction of the staff was that they would not rebook me I even had to fight to get the coupon back.

What I dread now is them cancelling my future flights as they will think I am a no show.

Anyway, be warned if anyone else tries this, Lan seems to have problems.

(Before anyone says it, I know the weather was not Lanīs fault, but not having any backup pilots was.)
