Seen the question asked multiple times here and elsewhere on the forum. AFAIK, everyone (including me) always chickens out because we can't get an answer.
Tent poles are not on the prohibited items list. However, check with your airline to see if it's an issue from their perspective. (Items
NOT on the TSA prohibited list
may still not be permitted inside the passenger cabin by the airlines.)
