Mercifully we don't have Tesco here on our little rock. As noted earlier, they just eat up all the opposition and small businesses. Nasty people.

We have, however, recently had a tectonic plate shift!!
Sandpiper sold it's Checkers and Safeway outlets to Waitrose [HUZZAH ^] who take Amex. ^
Not only that, but it's a short walk from home for the OH to harvest food using her Amex ... a very short walk, actually. So we get miles/£, which is nice.

The only real opposition is now Co-Op Jersey, who are ... fine.
[I have to say that, because we have a family member who works for them - in management].

As for fuel, when I only drive about 800 miles a year [on the Rock] the potential loss of Miles is really quite irrelevant ... i did nearly that in 3 weeks in VA at $4.00/gallon
