I think they can open up a redemption seat once a year at normal mileage, not the 2 x mileage that Golds can. I may be mistaken on both counts though
When checking possible routings (but not actually booking them) I often get the message "additional seats have been made available for you on one or more flights below". Does this mean I could only expect that to happen once a year?
