Sorry you had a bit of difficulty getting around in my city, Second City isn't too close to the L. I'm surprised the Second City show was so bad, although I haven't been to one in a very long time. Just for future reference, one of the downtown OTB parlors is on State St. near Lake which is right next door to the Chicago Theater (I've passed it when leaving the theater). At least you had beautiful weather although you would've had fun staying at Wrigley for the whole game, people watching alone.

Next time, let me know when you're coming to town.
