We were told that we would be given seat assignments 72 hours before we traveled. Will they be assigning our seats for all segments or do we need to wait until 72 hours before our second segment for our seat assignments on the second leg of the trip? We have a 15 hour layover after a 5+ hour flight, so it may be that our seats for the second leg won't be assigned until almost a day later.

I assume that for the trip home, a month later, we will need to wait until 72 hours before those flights. I am just wondering about the section after the layover on the way in.
