Yes, they almost all take credit cards but I always ask before I get in. (eg. Not all cabs in SIN take credit card and you sometimes have to specially call one that does.)
As for automation, some are fully automated, and some still have the carbon paper.

A few of us FTers haven't rode a cab in awhile.. in fact the last time I rode in a cab was when I was a child..
That's good its fully automated in some cabs.. that would actually be my preference. Carbon copy is good.. and leaving a tip on cc's are a must as I don't carry that much cash.
We'll heading down to the Mayan Riviera in July.. do cabs take cc down there?
