Canada is a great example. There are a few destinations in Alaska and some smaller Montana/Wyoming airports that are similarly great values.
I've got an upcoming trip to the Canadian Maritimes where the retail price of the tickets was $2200 each, I believe. Part of that is because I'm flying an open jaw into Moncton (YQM) and out of Sydney (YQY) and part is because I'm mixing CO and AC metal on the award. And part of it is because it is just an expensive market.
I did
YZF last Thanksgiving on miles as well. Not quite as high a valuation but the tickets are regularly quite expensive to get up there and sales are nearly unheard of.
