I think the supervisor did the right thing to ask the person to stop videoing. I think the supervisor should have also had the LEO escort the individual off the checkpoint immediately. But I don't know the totality of the circumstances.
I know that I'll get flailed for this. So be it. But this would apply to anyone else regardless of celebrity. If you're taking a video of someone else being patted down without their consent (e.g., it's not your Uncle Frank or Aunt Carol), then I'm going to ask you to stop. If you don't, then I'll have the LEO escort you off the checkpoint.
You call him a clown, yet the person doing the filming did nothing wrong.
There's nothing in TSA policy at tsa.gov that says filming/ photographing a person at a checkpoint requires express permission of the person being filmed.
In the video clip, it's the screener who's doing the objecting to the filming. Mike Ditka didn't appear to object to being filmed or even be aware he was being filmed.
In the video clip the screener asserts "
filming 'our procedures' is not allowed' then proceeds to tell the man who is doing the filming , "
a snapshot would be a little different".
So,that particular screener has arbitrarily declared filming is a no-no, but photography is a maybe.
