Won't work if the names don't match.
I've tried this. AA.com doesn't recognize the names as matching.

I had the same problem. My first and middle name would show up as one name. It was a pain at security. They let me go every time. I called and got transferred 3 times until I spoke to someone that fixed it.
Not the issue. I don't have any problems in security. My ID matches my BP, and my ID matches my AAdvantage account. It appears to be about the space in the name when creating the reservation, or the transfer of the reservation from a third party.
