I prefer the Grand Wailea over the FS Maui for many things except breakfast on the lanai. Check Cheaptickets - I got a rate of around $200 for a king (included tax) a night last year at the GW during the season, and that is well below their published rate. This is a very low seasonal rate and IMO, a finer hotel, however, the FS Maui is decently competitive - at times.

If you simply must stay at the FS, continue to check. Rates like that are rare but they do exist.
